MÜLLER SAFETY BOX
Müller Safety's roll-off containers offer multifunctional benefits thanks to their unique technical design.
The advantages of roll-off containers are obvious: they are mainly procured for operational logistics or to perform special tasks. With the two models, OpenTop and OpenTop GR, the development team has created a wide range of usage options for fire brigades and disaster control units. The specific objective was to design roll-off containers with the highest possible tactical value.
The container was therefore designed to fulfil the basic characteristics of a multi-purpose skip. In addition, the container was made completely watertight. This allows the roll-off container to be used as a buffer storage tank for firefighting water in forest and vegetation fires when working in shuttle mode. Fixed Storz couplings allow extinguishing water to be fed into the container on the pressure side and removed again on the suction side. Thanks to its watertight design, the Safety Box OpenTop is also suitable as a container for retaining extinguishing water. The roll-off container can be parked at the site of operation and be ready for use within a few minutes.
Easy transport of wheeled and tracked vehicles
Another requirement was the use of the roll-off containers for transporting telescopic loaders, firefighting support vehicles and large equipment. For quick loading, a ramp is attached to the rear, which is completely mechanical and can be easily operated manually by an emergency responder via a spring-loaded mechanism. Lashing eyes are attached to the floor, enabling quick load securing. In addition to the watertight ramp, there is also a side door that allows emergency personnel to enter and exit comfortably after vehicles have been parked inside the roll-off container. At the front of the box is a bulkhead through which a winch rope can be fed. This allows, for example, training vehicles to be pulled into the container.
Safety Box OpenTop GR as a version with equipment compartment
In addition to the OpenTop version, there is an extended version with equipment compartments on the front that are accessible from the sides. These can be planned completely individually. Aluminum profiles are used to make the interior design as flexible as possible. This means that storage units, pull-outs or shelves can be repositioned at a later date to adapt to changing requirements. Heavy-duty pull-outs, ramps for roll containers and compartments for storage boxes can be individually configured and implemented using our planning tool. We offer emergency roller containers that are suitable for equipment compartments. These are manufactured in accordance with the German AGBF recommendations. Ramps and parking spaces for existing roller container systems can be easily integrated into the Paul Müller Safety concept.
Optional equipment with fireproof tarpaulin or standard tarpaulin
Equipment with light masts, work area lighting or power generators is available as an option and can be taken into account directly in the construction meeting. Special designs with fireproof tarpaulins or weather protection tarpaulins can also be provided.
The original Safety Box is a special design for rescue companies and factory fire brigades. In this case, the roof is made entirely of sheet steel. The sides of the cargo area are covered with fireproof tarpaulin. The container can optionally be supplied with a standard tarpaulin. Alternatively, a fireproof tarpaulin made of stainless steel-reinforced glass fabric (EN 13501-1: A2-s1, d0) can be fitted. The tarpaulin material can withstand temperatures of up to 1,100 °C. Thanks to its double-sided silicone coating, the protective tarpaulin is weatherproof and water- and airtight up to 250 °C. The material is resistant to a wide range of alkalis, acids, oils and solvents. If the batteries of a damaged electric vehicle ignite during transport, the fire will be confined to the interior of the Müller Safety Box.
The box can be flooded with water up to a height of 700 mm. For standard cars and small vans, this water level is sufficient to completely cover the built-in lithium batteries. A Storz A fixed coupling is attached to the outside of the high-voltage roll-off container for filling.
The roll-off containers are designed in accordance with DIN 14505: 2015-01, but can also be customised to meet specific customer requirements.
